Upgrade your Alaska Status with Bilt this Rent Day

Bilt is out with an exciting Rent Day promo this month, where you can earn Alaska MVP or Alaska MVP Gold Status based on your Bilt status.

If you have Gold or Platinum status with Bilt, you can transfer 10,000 Bilt points to activate this offer starting June 24th. If you have Gold status with Bilt, you will match to Alaska MVP status and if you are Bilt Platinum, you will match to Alaska MVP Gold. The great part is that you also receive 10,000 Alaska miles as part of the offer, so the status comes almost free.

Mind you, Bilt is also running a transfer bonus of up to 100% to Alaska on July 1, but this status match transfer will not be eligible for that bonus if you decide to wait until then. You can also make use of this offer even if you have earlier done a status match to Alaska.

With Alaska elite status, you become eligible for bonus earnings on flights, first class upgrade eligibility, free checked bags for you and your companions, priority boarding, preferred seating, among other benefits.

This is a great benefit to come with the Bilt rewards ecosystem as such status-match opportunities are rarely offered by major reward ecosystem. There used to be a time when Amex Platinum card used to offer Delta status just for holding the card but those days are long gone.

Now a days, airline status are hard to come by and rarely rewarded for simply holding a credit card. The easiest option today is to get Delta Silver status, by holding two of its $250+ fee cards but Bilt is offering this status match for holding just their fee-free card. Granted you do need to have spent at least $25K in a calendar year on the card to get that status but it is proving to be a valuable status to pursue none the less.

It has been a while since Bilt offered a great rent day promo since its March transfer bonus to Aeroplan and this Rent Day exceeds the bar with both a status match opportunity and a great points-transfer opportunity which I detail in another post. This is also the first time a transfer bonus is offered to a US domestic airline.
