AAdvantage shopping portal is back to supporting giftcards.com

Shopping portals are a great way to save on your online purchases. All the better, if it also allows you to earn elite status.

American Airlines did just that when they introduced Loyalty Points to decide elite status, which you could earn while also shopping online through their shopping portals like AAdvantageEshopping and SimplyMiles.

It is especially useful if you are able to purchase gift cards on discount with such portal earnings as you can do bulk purchases and then use gift cards even for expenses that are not covered by the portal like your utility or medical bills for example.

But since December of last year, one such avenue was removed from the airline and credit card portals, which was giftcards.com. I had reported on it earlier during some previous gift card sales and I am happy to report that it is back now.

Of the airline portals, the most attractive is the American Airlines AAdvantage eshopping. It not only has the most payout in miles, but you also earn Loyalty Points on these purchases which allows you to earn status with American Airlines. So, if you are in need of a boost to your AA status this year, you can earn up to 6000 loyalty points per month via this avenue. IHG Ambassador Renewal Offer extension

As discussed before on this blog,  IHG Ambassador is one of the few reward status that can be outright purchased for a fixed amount every year. The usual rate is $200 or 40,000 IHG points.
