Get 5x or more back on Chase co-branded credit cards until June 2023

Chase is back with its bonus spending offers on co-branded credit cards. From April 1 through June 30 you can earn 5x or more on gas, groceries and restaurants with your Chase co-branded credit cards.

Because of gas and grocery store categories, it is easy to maximize this spend. Many gas stations (like 7-Eleven, even those without gas station attached), and grocery stores (like Safeway, Kroger's, Ralph's) sell gift cards, including Visa and Mastercard gift cards, which can later be used for other purchases. The gift cards usually come with a 1% fee or less, so a 5x return will easily beat the fee expense. I usually buy one $500 Visa gift card along with other groceries from Safeway. Not all Safeways will allow you to purchase a gift card with a credit card so your mileage may vary. I have also had luck buying Vanilla Visa gift cards from 7-Eleven depending upon the attendant. Some attendants have allowed it, some do not.

I have 2 Chase co-branded credit cards and found the following offers on them.

For Chase Hyatt credit card, I have the offer to get 5x on up to $1,500 spend on gas, groceries and restaurants. It is easy to get good value from your Hyatt points, even if you stay at Hyatt properties only now and then. I have been able to easily get 1.5 to 2 cents per point value from them. That makes this a 7.5 - 10% return on my spend. The spend will also inch me closer to the annual $15,000 spend for a Category 1-4 award night certificate, so all the better. Plus, I get 2 elite nights for every $5,000 spend on the card.

Get 5x points on Chase Hyatt credit card on groceries until June 30, 2023.

The other offer I have is on my Chase IHG Premier credit card. In this offer, I will earn up to 7x total points on my gas and restaurant purchases and 5x on grocery purchases. I value IHG points at .5 cents per point, so this is like a return of 2.5 - 3.5% in these categories.

Earn up to 7x on IHG Premier card until June 2023.

Of the two offers, I will definitely try to maximize spend on my Hyatt card, as its points, status, and award night certificates are much more valuable. But the 7x return on gas on IHG Premier is also worth chasing, once I have finished the spend on my Hyatt card.

Besides these two, Chase has other co-branded credit cards which are worth checking out like United, British Airways, and Southwest Airlines. If you have one of these cards, search for email from Chase announcing bonus points in title.
