Bank of America's generous 3% summer reward bonus

Bank of America's targeted summer bonus offer is now live and it runs from July 1 through September 30, 2024. With this offer you earn an extra 3% cash back beyond your regular cash back on all your spending during the period, without any limits.

For Business Advantage Customized Cash Rewards credit card, the offer looks like the following. The date to register for the promo is now past unfortunately but it was available at bankofamerica.com/recognition.

You earn the extra 3% on top of your other credit card rewards and there appears to be no limit to this 3% cashback, which makes it huge.

Usually, with the Business customized cash rewards card, you earn up to 3% in your category of choice on up to $50,000 annually. And if you are a Preferred Rewards for Business member, you earn an extra 25% as a Gold member, extra 50% as a Platinum member and extra 75% as a Platinum Honors member - earning you effectively 3.75%, 4.5% and 5.25% in your category of choice respectively with each status.

With this offer, you will not earn extra Preferred rewards on the 3% cashback, but you can still earn up to 8.25% cashback in your category of choice if you are a Platinum Honors member, up to your annual cap limit of $50,000 in the bonus category. You will continue to earn the extra 3% after you hit that limit, totaling 4% cashback for the rest of your spend. That is a huge cashback opportunity for big spending businesses from Bank of America this summer.

Bank of America adds more categories to Custom Cash Card

Bank of America ®  has added more cashback categories to its  Customized Cash Rewards credit card.  You can now earn 3% cash back on  EV charging stations, cable, streaming, internet & phone plan purchases  in addition to previous categories. The updated categories that can earn 3% cash back in are: • Gas &  EV Charging Stations • Online Shopping,  Cable, Streaming, Internet & Phone Plans • Dining • Travel • Drugstores & Pharmacies • Home Improvement & Furnishings Updated categories for Bank of America Custom Cash Card. As discussed before on this blog,  IHG Ambassador is one of the few reward status that can be outright purchased for a fixed amount every year. The usual rate is $200 or 40,000 IHG points.
