Some benefits also apply at Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spa which was bought by IHG in 2019 and is being integrated into the IHG® One Rewards program. Currently, the following benefits are available to InterContinental Ambassador, Royal Ambassador and Kimpton Inner Circle members at participating Six Senses hotels:

  1. Complimentary Breakfast for two in the main restaurant per day. Benefit not applicable at Six Senses Residences.

  6. Complimentary Internet access. Internet accessibility, speed, and connectivity in common areas and guest rooms vary by hotel.
  7. Wellness Platter welcome amenity on day of arrival. Benefit always subject to availability for all tiers at Six Senses Residences.

The great thing about Intercontinental membership is that it can be bought for $200 or 40,000 IHG points. It came in handy for my trip to Six Senses Maldives where it saved me north of $400 because of the free breakfast benefit alone on a 4-night stay. The complimentary massage was cherry on top.

Every year upon renewal, IHG might offer a renewal offer that might sweeten the deal even further. Last year, there was a public offer for signup or renewal wherein you could earn 20,000 points if you stayed two nights at InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants, or Regent® Hotels & Resorts.

My personal renewal offer was even better, where in I would get 15,000 points just for renewal without even needing a stay. If I could also finish the two nights stay, my total haul would have been 35,000 IHG points for $200 or 40,000 points spent on the renewal. I ended up not completing the stay but was happy to get 15,000 points for no trouble hoping to use the complementary weekend benefit or free breakfast at another Six Senses property.

IHG Ambassador Renewal Offer extension

As discussed before on this blog,  IHG Ambassador is one of the few reward status that can be outright purchased for a fixed amount every year. The usual rate is $200 or 40,000 IHG points. This can be very useful if you are going to stay at Six Senses for example. As also noted in the same blog, if you do not automatically renew, you usually get an offer to renew for $200 and get 15,000 points in return, which is a nice discount. Only a few days remain to renew your InterContinental® Ambassador membership. Give in to your sense of exploration and enjoy 15,000 bonus points when you renew for USD200 by 1 September 2023.
