Earn Emirates miles in addition to Bonvoy points on your Marriott stays

Marriott and Emirates run a partnership called Your World Rewards where in you can earn Emirates miles on Marriott stays and Marriott points on Emirates flights if you have a status with the programs. This is over what you already earn as a member of each program so you are not forsaking any of the regular benefits of the program.

Here are the rules:

Earn double while flying Emirates:

- Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite, Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members earn 3 points per $1 spent (on top of Skywards Miles) on all eligible Emirates flights.

- Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members also receive elite in-airport benefits, including priority check-in and priority boarding.

Earn double while staying at Marriott:

- Emirates Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum members earn 1 mile per US$1 spent (on top of points) for all eligible stays at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and resorts.

- Emirates Skywards Gold and Platinum members also receive additional benefits at Marriott Bonvoy hotels and resorts, including access to Elite check-in, 4 p.m. late checkout, and complimentary enhanced in-room Wi-Fi.

It is worth registering in advance if you have status with either program and there is a chance you could use the other service, lest you forget. Plus, if you register by 31 December, you will receive 1,000 bonus Marriott points. Register at https://your-world-rewards.marriott.com.

New Alaska Airlines Premium Card on the horizon (Register now for higher bonus)

As part of Alaska Airlines' merger with Hawaiian Airlines, it has made some more announcements for its upcoming plans. It includes making Seattle an international hub with routes to Tokyo and Seoul in 2025, more lounges along the west coast and Hawaii, and a new Premium Credit Card offering. We will get the full list of benefits closer to the launch but so far, they are promising 3x miles on all dining and foreign purchases, waived award ticket fees, Alaska Lounge access and new Global Companion Award Certificates, and more. The 3x earning on all foreign purchases could make it an exciting choice when traveling abroad, and the global companion award certificates could be very lucrative as well if done right.
