Air Canada announces partnership with Emirates Air Canada and Emirates announced partnership on July 12, 2022 that will see them implement code sharing later in 2022 and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits and lounge access in future. This will make Emirates, Air Canada's second partner in UAE after Etihad, whose hub is Abu Dhabi. Fighting to "Combine my Avios"

Avios is the currency of now 4 international airlines - British Airways , Aer Lingus , Iberia and the latest, Qatar Airways . It is possible to theoretically possible to transfer Avios between these airlines giving it the character of a semi-transferable currency, but the transfers don't come easy. The following are ways to transfer avios between these airlines Ways to transfer (In order of ease) 1. QatarAirways.com     From Qatar Airways, you can only transfer to British Airway's Executive Club. In this sense, this only links the biggest two Avios airlines but you only have to link them once.  1. Emirates Skywards loses JetBlue Business Class availability You can no longer book JetBlue Mint class using Emirates Skywards miles. The economy awards can still be booked. From VFTW . 2.   These were the noticeable developments in travel from last week. 1. Virgin Atlantic guarantees award seats on every flight Virgin Atlantic now guarantees a minimum of 12 award seats on every flight (8 economy and 2 each in Premium Economy and Upper Class). This is only the minimum and I have seen instances of Virgin Atlantic releasing more space as award space gets taken up. Frequent Miler reports that this is mostly when booking directly with Virgin Atlantic and availability when booking via partners is not guaranteed. Also worth noting that Virgin Atlantic releases award seats 331 days in advance and awards seats earn tier points towards the two Virgin Atlantic elite status - Silver and Gold.
